APC Imo State Senatorial Candidate Embroiled In Certificate Scandal – VOICE OF THE EAST

According to reports, Frank Ibezim, the APC hopeful for the seat of the senatorial bye-election for the Imo North Senatorial District is currently embroiled in a certificate scandal.

It
has also been gathered that the former commissioner for Agriculture was
disqualified earlier for failing to provide originals of his educational
qualification certificates and properly certified true copies for citing.

But
despite his disqualification, Governor Uzodimma and the State Minister of
Education, Emeka Nwajiuba insisted on Ibezim as the candidate for the party.
They had claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari asked them to give Ibezim the
ticket, irrespective of him not being cleared in the APC’s primary.

“I
think this just goes to say how the wills and electoral choices of the masses
are being subverted by powers that be. It is apparent the Presidency and the
governor is complicit in subverting the will of the people. Imagine what their
plans will be regarding the Edo elections for instance,” a source told
journalists.

The
source accused Nwajiuba of sponsoring Ibezim with public funds.

Also
according to reports, the statutory age declaration deposed by an Emmanuel
Ibezim, presented by Frank Ibezim to the screening committee was unsigned by
the declarant which rendered the document invalid. This was reportedly also the
case of another affidavit stating the loss of his academic qualification
certificates. And also, that the unsigned affidavit has no police extract to
show he has reported to the law enforcement agency.

The
academic certificates in question include submitted photocopies of his WAEC
certificate, University degree and NYSC certificates.
