Soldiers have reportedly blocked the entrance of Nnamdi Kanu’s family house.
Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of the proscribed Indeginious People if Biafra. Amnesty international, quoted residents as saying the soldiers are also harassing residents in the area.
It has been confirmed that there is heavy security presence at Afaraukwu, the country home of Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement obtained by the cable, AI gathered that they saw some soldiers harassing some people at bank road while another man said he was prevented from going home as a result of the blockade at the entrance of the Eze’s palace.
The Amnesty International director in Nigeria, Osai Ojigho, has called for caution and deescalation of the the rising tension in the community in order to avoid the repetition of the September 2017 incident that led to the death of atleast 20 persons and others still missing.
