A Biafran woman identified as Uchechi Eyioma has been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be Nigerian Army.
According to report by Scanned News, the IPOB’s zonal Welfare Officer was killed on 14th May at her residence in Oyibo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Recall, the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has vowed to deal with any person or group linked with the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB).
The Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) was proscribed by Governor Nyesom Wike in a state-wide broadcast late last year, 2020.
According to an Online Report, Since Wednesday 21st October 2020, residents of Oyigbo Local Government have been in their homes following the 24-hours curfew imposed by the Rivers State Government. Reports say that residents lack access to food and basic healthcare services.
The Publication further revealed that Officers of the Nigerian military have also been deployed to the area, and there have been reports of human rights abuses and extra-judicial killings by officers of the Nigerian military.

In a recent memo released, Governor Wike, while imposing another Curfew in Rivers state, had accused those he described as secessionists group of being behind the attacks on Police officers, facilities in the state.
