SIR, I want to start this letter by advising you not to come back to Nigeria now even if your security is assured. Remember what happened in the THINGS FALL APART were the white men deceived Okonkwo and his team to drop the matches which led to their imprisonment.
Again sir the law in section 217 subsection 2c said “SUPPRESSING INSURRECTION AND ACTING IN AID OF CIVIL AUTHORITIES TO RESTORE ORDER WHEN CALLED UPON TO DO SO BY THE PRESIDENT,BUT SUBJECT TO SUCH CONDITION AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY AN ACT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.
Sir, there are two things I would like you to understand here.
1. The president has the right to order the soldiers to any part in Nigeria for one reason, TO CURTAIL INSURRECTION.
2. That order must be approved by the act of the assembly.
Sir, dictionary defined INSURRECTION as a violent uprising against the authority or government. Sir IPOB which u led have even till today never kill anybody, cause arson or hooliganism. IPOB is fighting for the right to self determination which was enshrined in the article 3 of the United Nations laws.
Sir, remember also that you had a court case with the Nigeria government considering their frivolous charges against u and for good 1 year and 6 months they found nothing against u only come today come tomorrow court case.
Finally, you were granted bail by a competent court of law and was given a date to come to court. But before this date, buhari ordered the army to invade your house which was unconditional.
Sir, in a sane society, the president will first write to the Senate that he wants the army in umuahia if only ur members were armed. Secondly the assembly members will look into it, then if the referendum amongst them says yes, they will write it in the official national gazette and again make it appear in four front pages of the major news papers that they approved the order of the president. Then u can know what is going on.
What If they had succeeded in killing you, will they order for ur corpse to be in court.
Pls tell ur legal counsel to look into this part of the law and make a good case against the action of the HQ Nigerian Army.
