Chidimma
Uwajimogu, a sister to Benjamin Uwajimogu, a late aspirant to the Imo North
Senatorial seat has accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of not giving all the
aspirants to the position, a level playing ground in the just concluded APC
primaries for the Okigwe zone bye-election scheduled to hold on Ocober 31st
2020.

Uwajomogu
made this claim while fielding questions from journalists at the APC election
centre in her electoral ward, Ihitteboma LGA. According to her, Governor
Uzodimma name-dropped and used President Muhammadu Buhari’s name to impose an
unpopular aspirant whose membership in APC, she claimed was in doubt.

She
also accused the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba of
spearheading the imposition of Frank Ibezim who according to her was the
minister’s close friend.

According
to Uwajimogu, the action by the governor and minister would lead to eventual
doom for the party. She called on the national working committee of the APC to
help salvage the party from destruction.
